2002-2007 AHRC/SCRIPT Research Centre for Studies in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, Edinburgh >>

Part time research assistant in all the legal fields covered by the directors of the centre (copyright, trademark, patents, e-commerce and medical law).

Main achievements:

- Provided research assistance to the Director and Co-directors of the Centre for their respective subject areas (IT/IP and Medical law).

- Analysed and interpreted statutes, case law, and other sources of legal information. Presenting the information and updates in suitable formats for academic members of staff.

- Updated the Centre’s academic staff on new developments in their subject areas.

- Promoted the Centre’s research and teaching, through involvement with the Centre’s doctorate community and distance learning team.

- Created a distance learning module about French law for the LLM program.

- Daily updating and news aggregation for the Centre's website.

 

INTERNSHIPS


2005 Latham & Watkins, Paris >>

Internship in May, June and July. IP/IT department of Latham’s Paris office. Litigation and counsel work on trademarks, advertising, information technology, patent and life science issues. Legal researches and translations.

2004 Binn & Associés, Paris >>

Internship in May, June and July. French law firm specialised in intellectual property and information technology law. Legal research, drafting and translating of legal documents relating to trademarks, patents and international arbitration.

2003 Thales Intellectual Property, Paris >>

Internship in July, August and September. Thales’ legal department specialised in IP matters. Review and analysis of all IP contracts in order to update the group’s contract database. Work on assignment and license agreements elating to patents, software, transfer of technology and trademarks. Legal researches and translations.

2002 Cabinet Chatel, Paris

Internship in July. Business Law Firm. Legal research, drafting and translating legal documents.

2000 Total / Atofina's Legal Department, Paris >>

Internship in July and August. Creating a bookmark file for internet browsers consisting of the best legal websites. Writing a memo comparing the advantages, inconvenient and costs of paper (legal reviews, handbooks, codes...) and digital legal resources (legal databases, CD ROMs...). Legal research and translation of documents.
